LongCat-2.5 (Meituan)

Meituan released LongCat-2.5, a natively multimodal mixture-of-experts model for long-horizon agent work with 1.6 trillion total parameters and about 48 billion active per token. It builds on LongCat-2.0 with native visual understanding (images are handled as discrete tokens in the same stream as text) and large-scale long-horizon reinforcement learning for coding across whole codebases and full-project builds, plus visual coding, creative design and 3D tasks. Meituan's benchmarks place it between Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Opus 5 on most tests, and it was trained entirely on Chinese domestic accelerators. It is available to try at longcat.ai and through the LongCat API, which works with Claude Code, Codex and Hermes harnesses.
